Living Green: Individual choices that can contribute to a sustainable future

ECOS – The Environmental Coordination Office of Students – is a service provided by the Student’s Union. As the Students’ Union Sustainability Office, ECOS maintains a vision that it is possible to create a world characterized by ecological integrity, as well as environmental and social accountability. They strive to achieve this goal by providing tangible services as well as offering awareness opportunities for students.

One of these services is Living Green, an educational and interactive presentation program about the environment and more so, about individual choices that can contribute to a sustainable future. Living Green was developed in 2007/08, and is tailored to audiences like student groups, fraternities/sororities and faculty associations.

ECOS believes that education is a key component in the shift to sustainability. That’s why the Living Green program aims to:

  • Educate the campus community about sustainability and environmentalism
  • Provide the campus community with tangible means to reduce their ecological footprints
  • Encourage the campus community to brainstorm ways to make more environmentally friendly lifestyle choices!
