Description

Otoka is a biomass-to-energy corporation, based out of Minnesota, focused on delivering next generation advanced biofuels. The company has committed to starting construction on a 25 megawatt power plant near Drayton Valley, Alberta. Forestry residue will be used in the power plant that is expected to be operational by 2012. Further upgrades will be made allowing the forest residue to be converted into syngas and liquid biofuel. Additionally, Otoka is part of Drayton Valley’s Bio-Mile where one industries by-product becomes another industries feedstock. The goal of Bio-Mile is to change the way we use our natural resources – to obtain the greatest value and let nothing go to waste.
