Kaare Svidal will discuss what the energy management group at Enbridge Pipelines does and the challenges they face. One strategy he will discuss is the curtailment of electricity consumption during peak loads on the utility grid. They reduce their consumption by
decreasing the flow rate in their pipelines, and hence the electricity required to run the compressors. Kaare will also discuss their wind power hedging strategy and how Enbridge manages power consumption across jurisdictional boundaries.
